Short background:

Riko Aida is one of the only two women serving in the cabinet. She started out as a school district supervisor of Kaijo, chancellor of the University of Too and commissioner on higher education before she was called in as minister. Riko Aida is an athlete herself and competes on international and national competition on her later days. She is now also working as a part time coach for the Teiko national basketball team. Currently, she lives with her husband Junpei Hyuga and her three children in Kamata West.
